Taiwan Social Distancing 2.2.0

"Taiwan Social Distancing app" is a collaboration between the Taiwan Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (Taiwan AI Labs), the Executive Yuan, and the Taiwan Centers of Disease Control (Taiwan CDC) under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. This app is designed to provide COVID-19 exposure notifications and follow-up instructions to at-risk users in Taiwan, including Penghu, Kinmen, and the Matsu archipelagos. Its main objective is to help reduce the further spread of COVID-19.

The app offers various features that aim to minimize the risk of exposure by limiting non-essential in-person interactions. It provides social interaction modeling data to users, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding travel, commuting, and shopping.

It's important to note that the app operates on a voluntary basis. Users have the freedom to install or uninstall it based on their personal preference.

One of the app's key goals is to mitigate negative economic impacts by encouraging the public to reduce social interactions while allowing businesses to continue their daily operations in compliance with social distancing protocols. This approach minimizes the likelihood of potential government-mandated economic activity suspensions.

Furthermore, the app aims to reduce the risk of transmission by encouraging individuals to carry on with their daily lives while minimizing non-essential physical interactions.

An additional valuable feature is that users who test positive for COVID-19 can anonymously share their status with individuals who have recently had close contact with them. The privacy of all users is protected, while simultaneously preventing further spread of COVID-19.

Last but not least, the app also offers the convenient management of vaccination certificates for both users and their loved ones. By simply scanning the QR code of the digital COVID-19 certificate, users can easily carry a digital copy of their vaccination information.
